Background
My background traces to my time in the suburbs of Chicago, my time at the University of Missouri, and my life experiences through tough times. As a News TV producer, my most important skills and background come from mentorships, my relationships with my co-workers at KOMU, and my experiences from changing my major.

I was born in, and mainly grew up in, the Western Suburbs of Chicago. I was handed down the glorious love of the Bears, Blackhawks, Bulls, and Cubs from my family ties. I owe a ton of my personality and soul to my mom. My parents divorced when I was fairly young, and my mom did most of the parenting, though my dad also did his fair share. Sports became an easy way for me to make friends and connect with people beyond just my inner circle. As I grew up, ESPN's content during the mid to late 2010's soon had me by the shorthair and I fell in love with sports journalism. During that time, I also fell in love with politics and I became more politically active following the 2016 election of Donald Trump. I soon thought that politics was my calling, but college would take some hard turns and force me off that path.
College Experience & Twist
Key context for the twist in my college life: I graduated high school in the midst of the COVID-19 Pandemic. The years leading up to graduation, I was gung-ho on becoming a Michigan State Spartan. I was so into the idea that, despite the option of a gap year, I decided to spend my first semester as a Spartan completely at home, and my second semester living on campus in a very diminished capacity. True college life didn't start until the Fall Semester of 2021, when I became a full on student of MSU living with my best friend there, and experiencing what I thought was supposed to be a normal college life. I became a student section leader for the MSU Hockey team, (a.k.a. the Munnsters), and life seemed good.

But entering my spring semester, I wasn't feeling fulfilled. Part of it was due to issues that I had with the school itself, but also perceived issues with the town of East Lansing. My friend group wasn't where I thought it was, and I soon found myself increasingly lonely on campus. Several instances of overlooking and mistreatment on the part of the school and others in East Lansing eventually led me to figure out that I was miserable living there. I wasn't enjoying my major as much as I thought I would, and so I decided to transfer out to try sports journalism. After spending the Fall of 2022 looking around for schools to transfer to, I settled on the University of Missouri Journalism School, where I've spend the last 3 years building my skills in the life of social media content creation, professional tv production, and content editing.

International Experience
On residual effect from my time in politics has shaped how I see my future career going. I grew to become disillusioned with the United States due to the deterioration of the economy, the lack of willingness to be open to different concepts on how to fix it, and the overall ideas of the U.S. being higher than the rest of the world. My experience within U.S. politics helped me gain clairvoyance on the arrogance of America. We like to think very high of ourselves, but the fact is that we're all on the same globe. And if we're going to survive, we need to be willing to admit that point, but American's are less and less likely to see that. So I took the opportunity while at MU to get an international internship and stay abroad to test how I would do living in a different culture.
I spent 4 months living in Islington, a neighborhood on the Northside of London, working as a social media content creator for a local sports non-profit known as the London Basketball Association (LBA). My primary assignments each week was to shoot highlights at weekly scrimmages, create interesting and informative advertisements for the LBA's social networks, and post creative short form content that got participants involved with the sport through fun quizzes and rankings. My time across the pond confirmed to me that I should attempt to work in the UK, or even beyond in other countries connected to the crown.

My time abroad helped develop social media development skills, CapCut editing skills, and people skills through connecting with basketball scrimmage participants in a different culture. I hope to mainly utilize my skills gained at home and abroad in the UK and other similar cultural countries.
