Sports Coverage Portfolio

Here is a sampling of just a few of the highlights I've been assigned to cover for KOMU 8 News in Mid-Missouri. I've covered sports ranging from American football, soccer, and beyond. From small town high school sports to Division 1 college sports.

College Football Highlights - Mizzou v. UMass 2025

Mizzou coming into this game was looking to keep the undefeated season against a Group of 5 opponent on homecoming weekend. The Tigers won with a dominating game on the ground from Ahmad Hardy with 130 yards and 3 touchdowns, and transfer quarterback Beau Pribula getting 241 yards and 1 touchdown of his own in a 42-6 throttling of the UMass Minutemen.

Friday Night Fever Highlights - 134th Route 54 Bowl 2025: Fulton v. Mexico

One of the longest running rivalries in Mid-Missouri is the Route 54 played between the Fulton Hornets and the Mexico Bulldogs. This is the 134th meeting between the two high schools, with the Bulldogs winning the previous 12 games against the Hornets. The Bulldogs extend their streak to 13 with a 63-42 victory.

College Soccer - Lincoln University v. Truman State 2025

The D2 Lincoln Blue Tigers looked to stay undefeated at home in the entire 2025 campaign in their final home slate of the season against Truman State. The Blue Tigers got the win with some clutch goals from Joseph Lozano claw the win away for Lincoln, and they stay undefeated at home.

Side note: The quality of the video is lower because I had to adapt and shoot this video off my phone due to the weather. The camera ended up getting wet, so I had to use my phone.

Friday Night Fever Highlights - Harrisburg v. Fayette 2025

Harrisburg Bulldogs welcomed in the Fayette Eagles for their senior night on week 8 of Friday Night Fever. The Bulldogs would get the win thanks to multiple 4th down touchdowns from Senior QB Rylee Robinson, 28-8 win

College Football Highlights - Southwest Baptist v. Lincoln University 2025

Division 2 Lincoln University faced off against Southwest Baptist University in Jefferson City. The Blue Tigers lost to the Bearcats 50-21, including a 73-yard touchdown right before half, one of the hardest hitting touchdowns I've ever seen (his helmet literally came off), and a 69-yard QB scramble to put the Blue Tigers on the board.

High School Soccer Playoffs - Class 1 District 4 Finals: Fatima v. Christian Fellowship

The Fatima Comets won only 3 games in the regular season, and with a win against Christian Fellowship, they punch their ticket to State, and punch the ticket to Cancun for Christian Fellowship.

Christian Fellowship sails off into the sunset with the Comets moving on to State following a 2 goal game from Peter Schwartz.
